<p><b><font face="Arial" size="2">I enjoy building my own ham equipment, restoring vintage 
tube gear and fixing up BMW's. Although I don't do much with it anymore, I have a small business repairing and reselling electronic test equipment.&nbsp</font></b></p>

<p><b><font face="Arial" size="2">Above is one of my favorite receivers... a Racal RA-17L that I lugged back from the UK (back in the days when you could show up for a flight with just about anything). I checked it in at the baggage counter and received it at the other end with absolutely no 
problem! I completely rebuilt this one and upgraded the audio output section (stock
output is only 50mW) to a 6AQ5. It has exceptional AM performance.
I worked for Racal after graduating University which might explain my connection to it but by then
technology had moved past vacuum tubes.</font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial" size="2">The speaker above the
receiver is an early RME speaker, it's a really great sounding
speaker for AM.&nbsp;</font></b></p>
