Job: Head of Organic Growth at Trussle (a free online mortgage broker)

Former roles: Director of Content at Red Ventures (Zoopla, uSwitch, Money.co.uk, Bankrate); Editor of Ars Technica UK (Conde Nast); Editor of ExtremeTech (Ziff Davis); Editor of Download Squad (AOL); owner of SA Holdings; web designer, programmer, sysadmin, etc.

Email: [email protected]

Areas of expertise: Emerging technology, mortgages, fintech, open banking, consumer technology, science, space, security, hacking, telecommunications

TV & radio appearances: I am more than happy to talk about technology and some areas of science on radio or TV. I am most authoritative/knowledgeable when it comes to emerging tech, fintech (blockchain, crypto currency, open banking), consumer tech, science, or a news story that I've covered recently. I have been on BBC, Al Jazeera, and NPR, among other networks and stations. Email me if you want to set something up. I live close to central London, so can visit your studio if needed.

Primary resources

Trussle -- I am the head of organic growth at Trussle, the UK's first online mortgage broker. We make getting a mortgage easier and fairer for everyone in the UK. My role is to grow the business, primarily through organic traffic.

Red Ventures -- I was a director at Red Ventures, managing all content in the UK and Europe. I led the content strategy for Zoopla and uSwitch, following the acquisition of ZPG by RV and Silver Lake. I was also the editor in chief of Bankrate UK, managing the launch of a fully localised Bankrate in the UK.

Ars Technica -- I was the editor of Ars Technica UK. Ars is the authoritative source for techology, science, and digital policy reporting in the UK. Things went pretty well during my tenure: we went from zero users to almost two million in a couple of years. But alas, we were closed down in September 2017.

ExtremeTech -- Between 2011 and the end of 2014, I led the relaunch of the best place on the internet to find deep, and often quite opinionated analysis of emerging technology. By the end of 2014, I had grown the site to around 4 million monthly unique visitors. If you're looking for stuff written by me, hit up my ExtremeTech author page.

Secondary resources

Instagram -- While Flickr tends to mostly be photos of pretty landscapes and photos taken with my DSLR, Instagram is mostly smartphone photos of my bearded visage, food, and stuff like that.

LinkedIn -- Wanna be part of my NETWORK? Reach out and touch my base on LinkedIn.

Flickr -- As well as being an editor/writer, I'm also (technically) a professional photographer. I mostly only take photos when I travel, though -- and then upload them to Flickr! My best photos are available in the Portfolio set on Flickr.

Twitter -- Are inane, egocentric babblings your kind of thing? Despite being deeply embroiled in the world of technology, I also tweet about food, music, TV, and the (surprising) love of my life: musical theatre.

Buy my maps! -- I'm trying out a new thing: selling prints of lovely old maps of London and the UK. They're reasonably priced. Buy one! Good for your own wall, or as a gift...

Tertiary resources

If the previous two sections didn't sate your curiousity, or if they piqued it, email me. Perhaps you can glean something from my Spotify profile, or Goodreads (though I haven't read a book in a long time, sadly).

As I mentioned above, if you need me for a TV or radio segment, I'm more than happy to talk about technology (consumer and enterprise), science (space, emerging sci/tech), and a few other odd areas (robots, high-tech weapons, etc.) Just email me if you want to set something up.

Generally, if you see a Mr Seb anywhere on the internet, it's me (unless it's a Frenchman -- there are a lot of French Mr Sebs, for some reason).
